B-26 Marauder in France

To counteract the effects of freezing weather at their base in France, crewmen of a Ninth Air Force medium bomber group employ a gasoline heater to warm the engines of their Martin B-26 Marauder. Before the bombers can resume their attacks against German supply and communications targets, snow, ice and frost must be removed from each ship. Left, T/Sgt. William S. Griffith, 168 Freeman St., Hartford, Conn., and Cpl. Glen E. Cheuvront, Route 5, Parkersburg, West Virginia, right.
