B-26 Marauder Group at Presque Isle
Averaging a mission every thirty-six hours for the past ten months, the 9th AF Martin B-26 Marauder "Death Watch" group, commanded by Col. Gerald E. Williams, Presque Isle, Maine, have flown more than 200 missions against German supply, communication and other targets. Two planes of the group are shown dropping bombs during the 200th mission. In dropping more than 9,600 tons of bombs and gallantry, including two from Gen. Eisenhower and Maj. Gen. Samuel E. Anderson, commanding general of the 9th Bombardment division.
