B-25 Mitchells over Pontetidone

A wave of North American B-25 Mitchells of the 12th Air Force on their bomb run over a rail bridge at Fontetidone, ten miles west of Piacenza, Italy. The attack was carried out by the 12th AF on 21 January 1945, and returning crews reported the bridge down. Piacenza is the center of an important rail line running down to the enemy at Bologna. Part of the 12th AF job is to choke off enemy supply lines far behind his battlefront.
