1944-03-11

TWELFTH ARMY AIR FORCE, March 11, 1944 --- Sleek B-25 Mitchell bombers of a veteran group in the 12th AAF on their way to hit Rome's Littorio railroad yards. Mitchells in Italy have played a vital role in interrupting the flow of German supplies by hitting important communication centers. The photo was made from the nose of one of the Mitchells by the bombardier in the last element of the flight.
