B-25 Mitchells bomb Japanese supply area near Rabaul
A Japanese supply area on Talili Bay, just west of Rabaul, burns after bombing by Mitchell B-25's (one can be seen in upper right) of Maj. Gen. Hubert R. Harmon's U.S. Army 13th AF. Mitchells have been used extensively in the South Pacific area on pin-point targets when precision bombing is a primary requisite. The absence of any bombs wasted in the water, despite the target running to the water's edge, indicates the precision which the Mitchells achieve.
