B-25 Mitchell over Liuchow

Hurryíng withdrawing Japs in South China, this B-25 Mitchell of the famed 14th A.F. Jiggs Squadron on 3 June 1945 concentrated on Liuchow, at the junction of the Lung Valley and the Jap Great East Asia corridor south from Kweilin to the French Indo-China border. Liuchow sprawls on both sides of the river loop and has been held by the Japs since 7 November 1944 when their ground forces pushed the 14th AF out of the big air base which the Japs were never able to capitalize for offensive or defensive air operations.
