B-25 Mitchell over Japan

The protective covering is removed from the 50 cal guns mounted in the nose of a North American B-25 "Mitchell" of the 41st Bomb Group, in preparation for a bombing mission over Japan, 30 June 1945. This was the first B-25 raid on the Japanese mainland since the daring Doolittle raid in April 1942. Okinawa, Ryukyu Retto.
