B-25 Mitchell off Sicily
From an Advance North African Air Base--July 13--Shown above are members of a North American B-25 Mitchell bomber which enemy flak forced into the sea 5 miles off the coast of Sicily. While in the sea, the crew was protected by Lockheed P-38 Lightning's who circled above and also secured aid from the Air Sea Rescue Service at Malta. Left to right (back row): 2nd Lt. Theodore C.
