B-24 Liberators hit rail yards near Milan

BIG CONSOLIDATED B-24 LIBERATORS OF 15TH AAF hit the rail yards at Allesandria, just south of Milan on April 30, 1944. Medium bomber attacks on yards in Middle Italy piled up the freight in Northern yards, made ripe targets for the heavy bombers. That's how the Mediterranean Allied Air Forces worked a "squeeze play" on the Hun's rail supply system. JUN 5 1944
