Consolidated B-24 Liberators of the 15th Air Force rang the bell when these bombs, and many more like them, hit their mark on the marshalling yards at Forli, Italy, during an attack on 19 May 1944. Heavy bombers of the 15th Air Force dropped more than 5,000 tons of bombs on equally important targets in one week.
