B-24 Liberators bomb Kjeller Norway

Consolidated B-24 Liberators of the US Army Eighth Air Force Bomber Command attacked the German repair and maintenance base at Kjeller, Norway, about eleven miles northeast of Oslo, the capital. German intercepting aircraft offered stubborn resistance, but failed to divert the bombers from their objective, which they reached, and completed their mission with great destruction to the Nazi base.
