1945-04-02

A Consolidated B-24 Liberator bomber of the 15th A.F. drops its bombs on the rail yards at Krems, 35 miles northwest of Vienna, Austria, on 2 April 1945. According to reconnaissance photos, the Liberator attack on these rail yards, carrying supplies into the Vienna area, set the roundhouse on fire, fired sheds and rolling stock and destroyed or severely damaged all installations in the eastern end. Approximately 200 freight cars were destroyed or damaged and all tracks were cut in several places.
