DUTCH COUNTRYSIDE --- A Consolidated B-24 Liberator of the U.S. 8th AF banks around a Dutch windmill after dropping cannisters of supplies to the 1st Allied Airborne infantry which landed in Germany east of the Rhine, March 24th, 1945. The B-24 Liberator, one of 240 which flew in at 200 feet to supply the ground troops in advance of General Montgomery's troops crossing the Rhine, is heading for home. 1500 transports and gliders dropped the parachutists and ground forces, east of the Rhine.
