B-24 Liberator group in Italy

This nautical product of C.I. Ingenuity resulted when Sgt. George C. Hills, 1139 N. Almond, Banning, Calif., a member of a Consolidated B-24 Liberator group of the 15th AAF in Italy, (left) had a little time on his hands, a couple of salvaged Lockheed P-38 auxiliary gas tanks and a "Put-Put" from a wrecked Italian bomber. Sgt. Hills refused to give any information about the cruising range of his craft, claiming that the figures are confidential as he and his passenger, Pvt. Horace K. Golding, 1006 N. 4th St., Waco, Texas, headed for the open sea.
