B-24 Liberator disintegrates over German western front

A Consolidated B-24 Liberator of the U.S. 8th Air Force disintegrates in air during one of a series of attacks on German western front traffic centers 12 Dec 44. Bombs and debits are strewed forth as the Liberator tail twists off at right angles and the bomber breaks up. The Liberators hit two rail marshalling yards, Hanau and Aschaffenburg in this attack.
