B-24 Crashed At Kunming

mechanic, using crude hand-hewn timbers for cribbing, jacks up a wing of a Consolidated B-24 which crashed on the runway at Kunming, China, 2 December 1943, due to failure of the landing gear. The plane, used as a transport flying the "Hump", was carrying gas in a bomb bay tank on one side and 500 lb. bombs on the other.
