B-17s over Lorenzo Rail Yards

Lorenzo Rail Yards. (DURING) An extremely accurate concentration of bombs is shown above. Four groups from the Northwest African Strategic Air Force, totaling 150 Boeing B-17 airplanes dropped 442 tons of 500-lb. GP bombs from 19,000 to 24,800 feet. There was no fighter escort. The church of San Lorenzo damaged at right, is still untouched here.
