With a background of vapor trails, Boeing B-17 "Flying Fortresses" of the 452nd Bomb Group wing their way over Nazi-occupied territory enroute to their target for the day - German airfield at Chateaudun, France, 28 March 1944. 8th Air Force attacks on vital Nazi airfields helped to draw the iron ring around Germany. (Altitude 18,000 feet). Taken by Sgt. Melvin S. Jenner.
