High in the sub-zero substratosphere over Germany, Boeing B-17 "Flying Fortresses" of the 452nd Bomb Group etched these vapor trails as they droned steadily on towards Berlin, Germany. This photo was taken through the nose of an accompanying "Flying Fort" by 1st Lt. C. L. Story, 22 March 1944. (Altitude 20,000 feet).
