Two days before the Allied landings on 22 January, the Strategic air ranged over Central Italy, ploughing up every airdrome that the Hun might use to oppose our beach-head. Here, Centocelle Airdrome is being worked over by the Fortresses of the 15th AAF. First bombs are falling across the center of the field.
