B-17 Flying Fortresses attack Toulon

SOFTENING UP THE COAST. Marauders and Flying Fortresses of the U.S. Army 9th and 15th Air Forces during recent attacks on Nazi-held coastal points in France. Attack by B-17 Flying Fortresses on the naval base are at Toulon, south coast of France. Note falling bombs. A smokescreen covered part of the target area but hits were made on dock and warehouse facilities.
