FRANCE - Roaring in low just over the tree tops this Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress looks for the appointed spot, the bomb bays door open, and vital weapons and supplies tumble out, oscillating from their vari-colored parachutes, to be eagerly picked up by the men anxiously waiting below. This is a scene that has taken place often over the peaceful appearing countryside during the past months as the 8th Air Force has dropped supplies.
