B-17 Flying Fortress and B-24 Liberators over Bucharest

Accurately dropped bombs send up pillars of smoke and dust from the Bucharest marshalling yards, Rumania, during an attack by Boeing B-17 Elying Fortress and Consolidated B-24 Liberators of the U.S. Army 15th AF, MAAF. Reconnaissance reports indicated good coverage of the target, with hits on workshops, repair sheds, rolling stock, oil tank cars, a roundhouse, and other installations. JUN 5 1944
