B-17 Crash Deenthorpe England
1943-12-05
Representative of the Gaumont British News examines damage to the village of Deenethorpe, England - the result of an airplane crash on 5 December 1943. A Boeing B-17 "Flying Fortress" of the 401st Bomb Group, taking off for a mission over Europe, was unable to lift its heavy bomb load and crashed into an unoccupied house. Due to quick thinking and efficiency in executing orders, there were no fatalities.
