B-17 Choir Sings At Church

A choir of an 8th AAF Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress base commanded by Col. James L. Travis, Portland, Ore., is shown singing during church services at a nearby church. Representing eight denominations including Protestants, Mormons and Jews, the choir, organized by Chaplain Charles E. Smith, of East Rochester, N.Y., and former pastor of the First Baptist Church there, includes combat and ground personnel. The choir has given eight concerts and has invitations for 10 more appearances at neighboring churches, Red Cross clubs and hospitals.
