Axis planes at El Aouina Airdrome

Tunis, Tunisia - Axis planes totaling over 250 were left by the enemy in their hasty retreat from El Aouina Airdrome during the battle of Tunisia. Many German aircraft were destroyed on the ground from the constant bombings from Allied planes. However, a great number of the captured planes were still serviceable. Shown here is a Heinkell 111 bomber.
