Auxiliary tank on Lockheed Lightning

EIGHTH AAF SERVICE COMAND STATION - One of the new jettisonable auxiliary gasoline tanks is shown prior to being installed on a Lockheed Lightning. This modification, which is being done by Eighth AAF Service Command technicians, is one of the reasons for the increased flying range of the Lightning.
