View over beach, immediately below Mangaar Airstrip, showing system of anti-invasion posts set up by Japanese. These poles extended from 4 miles north of Mangaar to 2 miles south of Sepingang, a distance of approximately 12 miles. Posts were sunk in sand, 2 feet and interlocked with barbed wire. Balikpapan, Borneo. 4 July 1945.
