Anti-flak bombs bursting near B-25 Mitchell

This spectacular picture of anti-flak bombs bursting in mid-air was caught by an alert 12th AF cameraman from a North American B-25 Mitchell bomber. The bombs, which exploded prematurely, would have covered the German's anti-aircraft batteries with a dense smoke to permit better bombing of the Ora Rail yards on the Brenner route. 310th Bomb Group.
