Ajaccio, Corsica - After men of Headquarters Squadron of 2688th Air Defense cut probably the tallest tree in Corsica, members of Company A, 437th Signal Battalion (Aviation) put the finishing touches on the log which became the first American Flag pole on the Island of Corsica. Here, a GI paints the pole before erection. November 1943.
