Airmen of Fifth Air Force in New Guinea
ADVANCE ECHELON, FIFTH AIR FORCE, SOMEWHERE IN NEW GUINEA - These airmen are members of the light bombard-ment squadron that was first to use the parachute bomb in aerial warfare, that has attacked 75 Japanese vessels in Southwest Pacific waters and has some 180 missions to its credit. This crew has 22 combat flights in the Douglas A-20A aircraft. They are, left to right: 1st Lt. Charles S. Brown, pilot, of Knoxville, Tenn.; S/Sgt. Joseph Fox, gunner, of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Cpl.
