Airman in church near bomber base

THE SHINING LIGHT--An Eighth Air Force airman stands at the entrance to the chancelry of a little church near his bomber base somewhere in England. He stands there silently, hat in hand, thinking before he moves on to the alter rail. He thinks of what he wants to pray when he kneels at the alter, he thinks - how like the little church at home this is. With his thoughts and hopes clear in his mind he moves toward the alter and kneels in prayer. Christmas far from home and loved ones will not be the same, but his prayers and thanks to God are the same.
