Airborne Lifeboat over North Sea

Airborne Lifeboat, suspended from three chutes, has just dropped from an RAF Lockheed Hudson to an 8th AF crew in a dinghy, shown floating near their Boeing B-17 after ditching in the North Sea on a mission to Germany. Used by the RAF since last May, this 24-ft. motor launch is being adapted by the AAF Emergency Rescue Branch for our use.
