A-20 over St Lo

An electric flash bulb, known as the "D-2" was used successfully by the 9th AF in obtaining night photos during the invasion of France on D-Day. This picture was made by an A-20 attack plane in the vicinity of St. Lo from an altitude of 900 feet. Fires may be seen burning in the village with the layout of the town shown in sharp detail. Note particularly how clearly the gables of roofs are brought out. AC/AS, Intelligence Hq. A.A.F. No. 70.
