8th Air Force bombs increase

Typical of the growth of the 8th Air Force is the increase in tonnage of bombs dropped on enemy targets. As the picture demonstrates, an 8th AF bomb group dropped 110 tons in 1942, 2,615 tons in 1943 and 12,928 tons in 1944. Stacking bombs in this picture are Cpl. John Drewiskie, Captek, Montana; Pvt William Sharrah, Pastime Park Road, Tucson, Arizona; Pvt James Volacek, Rayland, Ohio; and Sgt Roy Eades, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
