8th AF bombers near Tours

STRIKING AT THE HEART of the German Luftwaffe, heavy bombers of the Eighth Air Force attacked the training base for single engined fighters near Tours. Hitting at the Luftwaffe training program. Visibility was reported by the returning crewmen as excellent and good bombing results were reported. From the attack, which hit five other targets, four enemy aircraft were reported shot down by the heavy bombers, and two of our bombers did not return.
