5th Air Force over Hollandia

In addition to applying a five-point procedure of air block-ade against Hollandia, planes of the 5th Air Force kept our landing forces supplied by parachute during the early days of the occupa-tion of this vital enemy base in Dutch New Guinea. Bomb craters and blasted Jap planes in this photo are evidence of the effective-ness of earlier air attacks.
