4th Fighter Group attacking German aircraft on airdrome 30 miles west of Leipzig, Germany, on February 27, 1945. The Group, commanded by Col. Everett W. Stewart, 300 Rogers Ave., Abilene, Kansas, destroyed 41 aircraft, some of which are shown burning in the photo.
