1st Lt Victor O Conway in B24 Liberator

Pictured in the nose of his bomber "WHAT'S UP DOC", is 1st Lt. Victor O. Conway, of Conway Ranch, Canyon Creek, Montana, Bombardier in the Lead ship of a Consolidated B-24 of the 15th AAF that attacked the aircraft assembly plant at Bad Voslau, Austria, on April 23, 1944. In an exhibition of precision bombing conceded to be the finest of its kind, despite intense flak and opposition from 50 enemy fighters, Lt. Conway kept his eyes on the target throughout the bomb run, setting the pace for the other ships of the formation.
