13th Air Force men with Snafu at Munda

Eight New Jersey men, ground crew members of the famed 13th Air Force, pose in front of "Snafu", the first American transport to land on Munda airfield. Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt rode in "Snafu" on her recent visit to this South Pacific base. The squadron was chosen to fly Mrs. Roosevelt because of an outstanding safety record, and the First Lady was made an honorary member. The men are, left to right, front row: Pfc. Fred J.
