13th AAF Liberators over Balikpapan

Flying two miles high over Balikpapan, Borneo, these 13th AAF Liberators plow through smoke caused by oil-tank fires, exploded by other heavies in the same formation. This was one of the daily-pre-invasion strikes made against the great Jap Borneo base by Consolidated B-24s, North American B-25s and Lockheed P-38s of the "Jungle Air Force."
